Chia is a modular dot typeface inspired by old construction and traffic pixel screens — those glowing grids that once turned simple messages into living light. The design translates that logic of limitation into a flexible typographic system built entirely from circles.

Chia comes in two structural versions:

• Chia 5, with letterforms built on a 5-dot grid — experimental, raw, and surprisingly expressive despite its minimal matrix.
• Chia 7, with a 7-dot height, offering a more balanced and readable texture while preserving the pixel spirit.

Each version includes six visual “weights”, defined not by stroke but by dot size: 20, 40, 60, 100, 150, and 200. At 100, the dots gently touch; at 200, they overlap, creating dense, almost sculptural surfaces.

Chia 5 also features alternate characters for a and g, while Chia 7 offers an alternate g for subtle stylistic variation.
Built for experimentation, motion, and bold typographic play, Chia sits between the mechanical and the human — where digital grids meet imperfect light.
